Sustainable mobility

Concept

The term “mobility” refers to the concepts of travel, transportation and accessibility. Every day, we travel (or not) for different reasons: work, shop, visit relatives, leisure, etc. To physically access these activities, we use one or more individual, shared or collective modes of travel.

Sustainable mobility is placed under the prism of sustainable development and the Solidarity and Ecological Social Economy to create an equitable, livable and viable living environment. Other terms are also used: eco-mobility, responsible mobility, sober mobility, low carbon mobility, respectful mobility.

Sustainable mobility consists in allowing access to territories and in giving the freedom of movement of individuals while considering the collective interest of current and future generations.

Experiences

Benoît Beroud’s gateway to mobility was cycling, as a means of daily travel and emancipation from the age of 15. After focusing on cycling, he then opened up to the topics of accessibility, public transport and car sharing in order to reduce the excessive use of the individual car. From 2005, he has made sustainable mobility his favourite field. This website is its showcase.
